Zoning decisions are a public issue, and a high-rise hotel isn’t a done deal; the community has the power to demand a better future
Mita and his team want you to believe his high-rise hotel is inevitable—but that's simply not true. He may own the property, but he doesn’t own the zoning! The reality is that this project requires community input and approval from the City Council. The Ocean City community still has a say. Our voices matter. The worst thing we can do is assume we are powerless.
We can stop this project, but we need your help!

Suggested Call Script
Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a resident/renter/long-time visitor of Ocean City with a residence in your district.
I’m calling to share my concerns about the proposed high-rise hotel at the former Wonderland site.
I believe this kind of development doesn’t fit the character of the Boardwalk and would require major zoning changes.
I support a solution that respects existing zoning, invites continued public input, and reflects what the community truly wants — like the Better Idea plan for Wonderland Commons, which offers a more realistic, community-driven alternative.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you’ll listen to the community as this moves forward.
It’s important they hear your concerns about the proposed high-rise hotel and your support for a solution that respects existing zoning, fits the character of the Boardwalk, and includes continued public input — like the Better Idea plan for Wonderland Commons, a realistic, community-driven alternative.

Together we make the city better. Numerous advocacy groups have formed in Ocean City to oppose the hotel, bayside commercial development, historic home demolition, and lack of government transparency and vision. These include: Save Wonderland, Friends of OCNJ History & Culture, Ocean City 2050, and Concerned Citizens of Glen Cove, among others.
We’ve stopped bad projects before—we can do it again!
This isn’t the first time developers have tried to force bad plans on OC. We’ve won before, and we can win again. The majority of OC residents do not want this high-rise boardwalk resort! The Ocean City community understands that change is unavoidable, but it can be done in a way that respects our history and maintains the integrity and values on which our island was founded.
